Who we are.

Wondrous Brewing Company, located in Emeryville, California, is a dream project of owner and brewer Wynn Whisenhunt. He grew up in the East Bay Area, and has been brewing beer professionally in Northern California for about ten years. Thanks to his friends and family at the time, he found a unique passion for brewing early in his life, started home brewing, and soon after, he found himself enthralled with working as a brewer in a commercial brewery at the age of 17. By the time he was 21, he was off to Chicago, IL and Munich, Germany to attend the World Brewing Academy and obtain his International Diploma in Brewing Technology. He spent the following years working at breweries big and small, from Lagunitas Brewing Co. in Petaluma, CA to Sante Adairius Rustic Ales in Capitola, CA. During this time he honed in on what his brewing style would be and dreamt of building a brewing facility of his own. Wondrous Brewing Company opened on May 12th 2021, with a focus on Lagerbiers, stainless/barrel-aged beers and hoppy beers.

We are here to create beers through passion and inspiration, to implement a culture of community, creativity and tradition. We admire positivity and stoke, while still appreciating the natural darkness the world has to offer. With brewing beer you’ll never know everything, and to us, that's a concept that keeps us pushing forward..
